"There is also a very small cemetery in Cavendish, Vermont called Twenty Mile Stream Cemetery. There were also some old headstone's of some Whitneys some of which I've been able to trace but 2 of which I can not. Oliver Whitney and Mehitabel Whitney. Since I saw that Mehitabel was a family name you had listed thought you might could help. The headstone says "Daughter of Oliver & Hannah Whitney died May 31, 1863 age 75 years." Then there is Oliver's headstone "Oliver Whitney died Dec 29 1812, Ae 69 year 8mo A Solider of the Revolution." and then Hannah's headstone "Hannah wife of Oliver died Nov 29 1841 ae 87". This cemetery is very old and very hard to get to it was on top of a hill, but very well kept." - [[Mailing List:2003-01-22 03, Mysterious Oliver and Hannah Whitney, by Jeanne Muse|Whitney-L Mailing List]]

Oliver6 Whitney (David5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of David5 and Mehitable (Parker) Whitney,[1] was born 15 Apr 1744, Needham, MA,[2] was baptized 9 Jun 1745, Natick, MA,[3] and died in 1815.

He married, 9 Jun 1780, Cambridge, MA, Hannah Chase,[4] daughter of Job and Hannah (Law) Chase. She was born 19 Dec 1753, Swansea, MA, and died 29 Nov 1841, Cavendish, VT, aged 87 years.

Oliver Whitney was born in Natick, MA, where he resided with his parents. His father died when he was 14 years of age, in 1759; three years later, in 1762, Josiah Newell was appointed his guardian by the Suffolk County Probate Court. He was baptized in Natick by Rev. Oliver Peabody. During the Revolutionary war he took part, enlisting in one of the Natick companies. He resided Nelson, NH, and Cavendish, VT.

This cemetery is very old and very hard to get to it was on top of a hill, but very well kept." - Whitney-L Mailing List
