Waldo7 Whitney (Oliver6, Israel5, Elijah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Oliver6 and Mercy (Whitcomb) Whitney, was born 16 Apr 1817,[1] Harvard, MA,[2] and died 23 Aug 1898, Leominster, MA, aged 81 years 4 months 7 days, of old age.[3]

Marriage intentions were published 20 Aug 1842, Leominster, MA, for him and Hannah M. Benajmin "of Lincoln".[4]) He "of Leominster" married, 8 Sep 1842, Lincoln, MA, Hannah Matilda Benjamin,[5] daughter of William and Hannah (Estabrook) Benjamin. She was 21 Apr 1819,[6] Lincoln, MA, and died 7 Dec 1887, Leominster, MA, aged 68 years 7 months 16 days, of enlargement of liver.[7]

He married secondly, 30 Dec 1890, Leominster, MA, Maria R. (Hawley) Cole, daughter of John S. and Mary (Slocum) Hawley.[8] She was born about 1840, Rushville, PA, and died 6 Oct 1907, Leominster, MA, aged 67 years 6 months 1 day, of apoplexy.[9] She had married firstly, 8 May 1866, Leominster, MA, Leonard Cole.[10] She married thirdly, 10 Sep 1900, Fitchburg, MA, Thomas B. Cowan, born about 1840, Berkshire, VT, son of Thomas and Susan (Holt) Cowan.[11] At death she is called Maria R. Whitney, widow of Waldo Whitney, not Maria R. Cowan, for reasons unknown. She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster, MA.

According to Pierce, they had no children.

i. Daniel D.8 Whitney, b. ca. 1844, South Boston, MA; d. apparently bef. 1870; m. 22 Apr 1867, Manchester, NH, Minnie A. Dow, both of Manchester, NH,[12] b. ca. 1845-1846, Vershire, VT, dau. of John D. and Judith H. (-----) Dow. She m.(2) 29 May 1874, Manchester, NH, Ethan Rothwell.[13] No known children.
