Silas8 Whitney (Silas7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Silas7 and Hannah (Cushing) Whitney, was born 28 Apr 1803, Ashburnham, MA, and died 26 Sep 1854, aged 51 years 7 months. He was buried in Methodist Church Cemetery, Quogue, NY.[1]

Marriage intentions were published 21 Mar 1826, West Boylston, MA, for him "Jr." "of Marlboro" and Olive Knight.[2] He married, 22 Apr 1826, West Boylston, MA, Olive K. Knight, daughter of Elijah and Eunice (Lovell) Knight. She was born 17 Feb 1807, Worcester, MA, and died 5 Jun 1895, Worcester, MA, aged 88 years 3 months 19 days, of apoplexy.[3]

Apparently there was a divorce, since he remarried before Olive's death. In the 1880 census, she reported herself as single, but at death, she is listed as widow of Silas.

He married secondly, about 1836, Jemima Corwin,[4] daughter of Seth and Sarah (Post) Corwin. She was born 22 Aug 1809, Southold, NY, and died 27 Sep 1884, East Quogue, NY. She married secondly, between 1856 and 1860, William H. Dayton, as his second wife.

He resided West Boylston, MA, and Southampton, NY.
