Samuel Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 10 May 1814, Pittstown, NY, and died 26 Feb 1890, Charlton, MA, aged 78 years 8 months 16 days, of heart disease.[1] He was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Valatie, NY.[2]

He married firstly, 21 Dec 1834, Bennington, VT, Laura M. Whiton/Widden. She was born 25 May 1816, VT, and died 28 Aug 1854, Kinderhook, NY. She was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Valatie, NY.[3]

He married secondly, between 1855 and 1860, Jane H. Washburn, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (-----) Washburn. She was born about 5 Jul 1819, Ghent, NY, and died 7 Jul 1890, Springfield, MA (recorded at Charlton, MA), aged 71 years 2 days, of fracture of neck of femur.[4] She was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Valatie, NY.

He was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Valatia, NY.
