Capt. Lemuel6 Whitney (Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Josiah5 and Sarah (Dwelly) Whitney, was born 19 Sep 1784, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 9 Jul 1853, Ashburnham, MA.

He married, 4 Dec 1804, Ashburnham, MA, Elizabeth Hall,[2] daughter of Henry, Jr., and Betty (-----) Hall. She was born 6 Feb 1788[3] or 6 Jul 1788, Ashburnham, MA, and died 30 Apr 1852, Ashburnham, MA, aged 63 years 10 days, of a fit.[4]

Capt. Lemuel Whitney was the son of Gen. Josiah, and was born in Harvard, MA. He was eleven years of age when his father moved from Harvard to Ashby. He was captain in the militia, and an officer for six years. He was fatally injured by falling from a load of hay, and died within a few days. He made his will July 6, and it was probated 6 Sep 1853. He resided Ashburnham, MA.
