John9 Whitney (Benjamin8, John7, Abner6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Benjamin8 and Mehitabel (Whitcomb) Whitney, was born 3 Feb 1832, Fitchburg, MA,[1] and died 10 Aug 1889, Fitchburg, MA, aged 57 years 6 months 7 days, of pulmonary consumption.[2]

He married 8 Apr 1854, Fitchburg, MA, Caroline Maguire, daughter of Henry and Ellen (-----) Maguire.[3] She was born about 1833, Scotland.

ii. Waldo Hubbard Whitney, b. 5 Jan 1858, Fitchburg, MA;[6] m. 24 Nov 1887, Fitchburg, MA, Evaline F. Willett, b. ca. 1867, East Cambridge, MA, dau. of Samuel S. and Frances E. (Salmon) Willett,[7] d. 17 Jun 1901, Fitchburg, MA, aged 34 years 1 month 7 days, of tuberculosis.[8] Children:
a. Lena Frances11 Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1888, Fitchburg, MA;[9] d. 26 Mar 1889, Fitchburg, MA, aged 9 months 24 days, of membranous croup.[10]
