George Washington8 Whitney (Jonas Ward7, Abner6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Jonas Ward7 and Phebe (Rand) Whitney, was born 7 Mar 1813, Westminster, MA,[1] and died 8 Jul 1896, Westminster, MA, aged 83 years 4 months 1 day, of cerebral hemorrhage.[2]

He married, 5 Oct 1837, Westminster, MA, Dolly Jackson,[3] daughter of Edward and Dolly (Winship) Jackson. She was born 29 Nov 1815,[4] and died 22 Sep 1895, aged 79 years 9 months 23 days, of cerebral hemorrhage.[5]

He settled on the Samuel Miller (Cutting) farm, three-fourths of a mile north of the village where they still reside. Mr. Whitney had been adopted by the younger Samuel Miller, and came into possession of the estate thereby; resided Westminster, MA.
