Dea. Frederick8 Whitney (Aaron7, David6, Nathan5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Aaron7 and Martha (Raymond) Whitney, was born 17 Oct 1823, Westminster, MA, and died after 1920.

He, of Westminster, married firstly, 8 Oct 1850, Marlborough, MA, Sarah Ann Randell, of Marlborough, daughter of Levi and Lucy (Allen) Randell,[1] of Providence, NY. She was born about 1820, Edinburgh, NY, and died 22 Nov 1857, Westminster, MA, aged 37 years 9 months 7 days, of consumption.[2]

He married secondly, 19 Apr 1859, Janette C. Vandenburg, of Onondaga, NY. She died Dec 1881, Cranston, RI.

He married thirdly, 31 Oct 1882, Lancaster, MA, Jane (McKinnon) McLean, of Prince Edward Island, Canada, daughter of Allen and Margaret F. (Ferguson) McKinnon.[3] She was born about 1847, NB. She had married firstly, John McLean.

Frederic Whitney, son of Aaron and Martha, married 1st Sarah Ann, daughter of Levi and Lucy Allen Randell, of Providence, NY. She bore him one son. He married 2d Janette C. Vandenburg, of Onondaga, NY. She died without issue at Cranston, RI, and he married 3d Jane McLean, of Prince Edward Island. She has one child. Leaving the farm at twenty-one, Mr. Whitney worked at chair making many years, and was in the U.S. armory at Springfield during the war. He was appointed superintendent of farm connected with State Industrial School at Lancaster eleven years, and later had charge of Providence, RI, water works pumping station seven years. One year he served as assessor in Westminster, and has filled most worthily the office of deacon in Congregational Trinity church at both Westminster and Lancaster, a position still held by him at the latter place, where he now resides; resided Lancaster, MA.

Heywood says the following:[4]

"Whitney, Frederic8, s. of Aaron7 and Martha, m. (1) Sarah Ann, dau. of Levi and Lucy Allen Randell of Providence, N.Y., Sept. 1850. She bore him 1 s. and d. Nov. 22, 1857. He m. (2) Janette C. Vandenburg of Onondaga, N.Y., April 19, 1859. She d., without issue, at Cranston, R. I., Dec., 1881, and he m. (3) Jane McLean of P. E. Island, Oct. 31, 1882. She has 1 chd. Leaving the farm at 21, Mr. W. worked at chair making many years, and was in U. S. Armory at Springfield during the war. He was appointed Supt. of farm connected with State Ind. School at Lanc. 11 years, and later had charge of Providence, R. I., Water Works pumping station 7 yrs. One year he served as Assessor in W., and has filled most worthily the office of Dea. in Cong. ii. Allen Stewart Whitney, b. 12 Jan 1885, Cranston or Pettaconsett, RI;[6] m. Marion Richards Dorr.
