Charles Edwin9 Whitney (David J.8, Eli7, Enoch6, Moses5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of David J.8 and Celia Bridget (Trainer) Whitney, was born 5 Jun 1859, Stow, ME, and died after 1900.

He married, about 1884, Mary Isabel Allen, daughter of Ashbel Green and Ann Maria (Horr) Allen. She was born 30 Sep 1865, East Stoneham, ME, and died after 1930.

In 1886 he was a clerk living at 3 Anthony Place, Boston, MA. In 1889 he was a clerk living at 43 Portland St., Boston, MA. In 1892 he was a butcher living at 87 School St., Charlestown, MA, and a salesman living at at 30 Oxford St., Somerville, MA.

iii. Edith Maria Whitney, b. 8 or 9 Apr 1892 (twin), Somerville, MA (also recorded at Boston, MA).[3]
iv. Ethel Whitney, b. 8 Apr 1892 (twin), Somerville, MA;[4] d. 12 Apr 1892, Somerville, MA, aged 4 days, of exhaustion.[5]
v. Nellie M. Whitney, b. ca. May 1894, ME.
