Charles Augustin9 Whitney (James8, Newell7, James6, Ezra5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of James8 and Celestia Ursula (Sturtevant) Whitney, was born 7 May 1867 (twin), Craftsbury, VT,[1] and died after 1940.

He married, 10 May 1893, Cambridge, MA, Emma Frances Ruggli, daughter of Joseph A. and Eva U. (Nauman) Ruggli.[2] She was born May 1869, Cambridge, MA, and died after 1940.

vi. Emma Celestia Whitney, b. 15 Apr 1906, Boston, MA [given name omitted] or Boston, MA.[10]
