Charles9 Whitney (Amasa8, William7, William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Amasa8 and Dolly (Scollay) Whitney, was born 21 Sep 1830, Gardner, MA,[1] and died 11 Apr 1894, Gardner, MA, aged 63 years 4 months 20 days, of pneumonia.[2]

He married, 2 Dec 1857, Fitchburg, MA, Mary Knowlton, daughter of Emery and Polly (-----) Knowlton.[3] She was born 19 May 1836, Gardner, MA.[4]

He was born in Gardner, where he still resides engaged in the agricultural pursuits. For many years he has been an overseer of the poor; resided Gardner, MA.
