Charles8 Whitney (Zimri7, John6, Zachariah5, John4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Zimri7 and Susanna (Sanderson) Whitney, was born 2 Mar 1805, NH, and died 26 Feb 1851 [but no record found in MA].

He married, 1 May 1828, Dublin, Cheshire, NH, Adaline Strong,[1] daughter of Richard and Sally (-----) Strong. She was born about 1808, Dublin, NH, and died 7 Jun 1857, Charlestown, MA, aged 49 years 4 months 12 days, of dropsy.[2]

They resided Charlestown, MA and had 10 children.

iii. Harriet A. Whitney, b. ca. 1838, Charlestown, MA; d. 5 Jul 1905, Boston, MA, aged 67 years 5 months 6 days, of acute gastro-enteritis;[6] m. 21 Nov 1858, Charlestown, MA, Albion K. Richmond, b. 22 Aug 1834, son of Israel and Phebe (-----) Richmond.[7] Children:

iv. Charles Richard Whitney, b. 5 Oct 1839, Charlestown, MA;[8] d. 6 Dec 1909, Boston, MA, aged 72 years 2 months 1 day, of cerebral hemorrhage;[9] m. 27 Apr 1864, Charlestown, MA, Mary A. Carney.[10]
v. (child) Whitney, b. ca. Oct 1842; d. 25 Jan 1842, aged 3 months.[11]
vi. (child) Whitney, b. 13 May 1844, Charlestown, MA.[12] Note this child and the next have birth dates too close together. Both are called children of Charles Whitney, teamster, of Front St., Charlestown.
