Calvin C.6 Whitney (Nathan5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Nathan5 and Sarah (Godfrey) Whitney, was born about 1812-1814, probably Lisbon Falls, ME, and died after 1880.

He married firstly, before 1839, Belsirah G. -----. She was born about 1810, ME, and died 26 May 1861, Skowhegan, ME, aged 51 years.[1]

He married secondly, 26 Oct 1868, Skowhegan, ME, Harriet Maria Butler.[2] She was born about 1830, ME, and died after 1880. She may have been the Harriet M. Kelly who married, 20 Oct 1860, Winthrop, ME, Charles E. Butler.[3]

On 19 Jul 1843, Calvin C. Whitney was admitted on trial at the Maine Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was a preacher stationed at Parkman, Augusta District, ME. He on trial 14 Aug 1844.[4]

It's interesting to see his occupation change. In 1840, he was in agriculture; 1850, clergyman; 1860, apothecary; 1870, insurance agent; and 1880, publisher.

i. Olive Hattie7 Whitney, b. ca. 1839, Portland, ME; m. 2 Mar 1867, Boston, MA, Franklin D. Drake, b. ca. 1831, Sangersville, ME, son of Eingman and Louise (-----) Drake.[5]
ii. Charles Morse Whitney, b. ca. 1843, ME; m. Emma Sarah Cornwell.
iii. Susan B. Whitney, b. ca. 1846, ME; probably the same as "Mary J." in 1860 census.

Children of Calvin C.6 and Harriet Maria (?Kelly?)(Butler) Whitney, if any, unknown.
