Benjamin8 Whitney (William7, Charles6, Samuel5, Abraham4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of William7 and Mary (Mitchell) Whitney, was born 22 Nov 1849, St. John, NB, and died 15 Mar 1926, St. Louis, MO. He was buried in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.{{ref]1}}

He married, 21 Sep 1871, Boston, MA, Mary J. Canning, daughter of Patrick and Rosanna (-----) Canning.[1] She was born about 1850, Boston, MA.

They were living at 171 Chambers Street, Boston, MA, in 1874.

Benjamin8 and Mary J. (Canning) Whitney had no children.
