Andrew Whitney

Andrew8 Whitney (Jonas Prescott7, Josiah6, Josiah5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Jonas Prescott7 and Rebecca (Piper) Whitney, was born 28 Feb 1826, Ashby, MA, and died 1912, Fitchburg, MA.[1]

He married firstly, 3 Jul 1872, Fitchburg, MA, Diadema Hudson, daughter of William and Jane (Campbell) Hudson.[2] She was born 2 Aug 1850, Ottawa, Canada, and died 30 Apr 1886, Fitchburg, MA, aged 37 years 8 months 28 days, of progressive pernicious anaemia.[3]

He married secondly, 29 Jul 1899, Fitchburg, MA, Jennie Moriarty, daughter of Thomas and Catherine B. (Butler) Moriarty.[4] She was born 6 Sep 1861, Fitchburg, MA, and died after 1920.

At his first marriage, his occupation is listed as "Music dealer". In 1900 his occupation is listed as "Capitalist".

ii. Alice Ethel Whitney, b. 5 May 1875, Fitchburg, MA;[7] m. 21 Nov 1907, Springfield, MA, Harold Irving Cook, b. ca. 1877, Woonsocket, RI, son of Simeon S. and Ruth Ann (Mowry) Cook,[8] residence Newton Highlands, MA. They have one son, Stuart Whitney Cook, b. 1 Apr 1909.
iii. Edith Irene Whitney, b. 8 Oct 1878, Fitchburg, MA [given name omitted];[9] of Spingfield, MA, m. 6 Feb 1907, Newton, MA [recorded at Springfield, MA], Gardner Cheney Basset, b. ca. 18y4, Boston, MA, son of Horace Scudder and Elizabeth (Cheney) Basset,[10] of Worcester, MA.
