Alfred A.8 Whitney (Salmon7, Salmon6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Salmon7 and Eliza (Sumner) Whitney, was born about 1813, Boston, MA, and died between 1870 and 1880 [but not found in MA VRs].

He married, about 1836, Elizabeth H. Leeds, daughter of Samuel and Eliza (Tewksbury) Leeds. She was born about 24 Mar 1820, Petersburg, VA, and died 29 May 1904, Boston, MA, aged 84 years 2 months 5 days, of bronchial pneumonia.[1]

He was a fish dealer. In 1851 he lived on E Street, Boston, MA, and in 1856, on Second Street.

i. Samuel L.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1844, MA; not in family in 1870; d. 27 Mar 1894, Boston, MA, aged 50 years 5 months 7 days, of tonsillitis oedema of glottis and pneumonia;[2] m. ca. 1875, Sarah Eleanor (Witham) Mitchell, b. ca. 1833, ME.
ii. Alfred A. Whitney, b. 11 Jul 1851, Boston, MA;[3] d. after 1900, then unmarried.
iii. Alice Eliza Whitney, b. 6 Mar 1856, Boston, MA;[4] m. 4 Feb 1880, Boston, MA, Dr. Edmund Bailey Frye, of Pawtucket, RI, b. ca. 1857, Concord, NH, son of James S. and Margaret (-----) Frye.[5]
