Family:Whitney, Abigail (1731-1793)
Abigail5 Whitney (Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), daughter of Benjamin4 and Abigail (Bridge) Whitney, was born 13 May 1731, Marlborough, MA,[1] and died May 1793.
She married, 4 May 1769, Boston, MA, Samuel Austin,[2] son of Ebenezer and Rebecca (Sprague) Austin, as his second wife.
Pierce says the following:[3]
- ABIGAIL [WHITNEY], b. May 3, 1731; m. Samuel AUSTIN; his second wife. She d.s.p. He and his brother, Benjamin AUSTIN, were of the leading merchants of Boston, who first opposed the aggressions of the Crown. She d. s. p., 1793.
Probably it was she who was admitted to the Hollis Street Church, Boston, MA, 13 Sep 1747.[4]
Samuel and Abigail5 (Whitney) Austin had no children.
