Cruz, Mexico; was present at the surrender of that city, and the engagement at Tuspan; and died on board the brig Vesuvius, of which he was quarter-gunner, at Laguna, Mexico, 21 Aug. 1847.
5359 III. Elisha Clark Jones, b. at Esopus, N.Y., 21 May 1823; a hotel-keeper; married in Oct. 1847, at New York City, Harriet Rose Houghtaling, dau. of Peter and Margaret Houghtaling, of Esopus, where she was born in 1822. She died at New York 9 Jan. 1860. He married (2d), 3 July 1862, at Jersey City, N.J., Anna Theodosia Ibbs, who was born there in 1843, dau. of George and Elizabeth (Oldfield) Ibbs. He lived mostly at New York from 1825 to 1860; afterward at Dover, N.J.; and finally at Boonton, N.J., where he was proprietor of the United States Hotel. He died at Boonton, 7 June 1874, and was buried from the Presbyterian Church at Dover, in the family-vault in Locust Hill Cemetery. 13280
5360 IV. Isaac Nelson Jones, b. at Esopus, N.Y., 4 June 1825; died at Esopus, 15 June 1825, and was buried there, "in Terpenney's burying-ground.
5361 V. Whitney Thomas Jones, b. at Esopus, N.Y., 19 Sept. 1827; died at New York City, 20 Jan. 1831, and was buried in a vault at the Sullivan Street Methodist Church.
5362 VI. William Henry Jones, b. at Hyde Park, N.Y., 13 Jan. 1830; a hotel-keeper; married at Newark, N.J., 29 Oct. 1860, Caroline Dowlen Easton, dau. of Joseph ath Catharine (Norris) Easton, of Rockaway, N.J. She was born at Montgomery, N.Y., 16 Feb. 1838. He lived at New York City till 1848; at Newark, N.J., till 1849; and then settled at Dover, N.J., where he was living in July 1875. He has been an alderman, four years. 13284
5363 VII. Mary Helen Jones, b. at Ellenville, N.Y., 1 March 1832; married in the house of her brother-in-law Asa Mitchell Phillips, at Dover, N.J., 23 Dec. 1850, by Rev. Charles W. Rankin, rector of St. Peter's Church at Morristown, N.J., to Aaron Jackson Edwards, a jeweller, son of Reuben Budd and Maria (Mockridge) Edwards, of Newark, N.J., where he was born 4 March 1829. They settled at Newark, and were living there in Feb. 1875. 13285
5364 VIII. David James Jones, b. at New York City, 16 Sept. 1834; and lived at Dover, N.J., in 1874.
5365 IX. Sarah Elizabeth Jones, b. at New York City, 4 July 1839; died there, 20 July 1839, and was buried in a vault at the Sullivan Street Methodist Church.
