IX. Theodore Edward Bliss Whitney, b. at Paterson, N. J., 19 Oct. 1843; a silk-worker; married at Susquehanna Depot, Penn., 23 Sept 1866, Catharine Harney, dau. of Patrick and Anna (Lennor) Harney. They settled at Susquehanna Depot, and were living there in July 1875, when he was employed as a locomotive-engineer. He enlisted at New York City, 25 May 1861, in Co. I, 6th Reg., N. Y. S. Vol. Infantry ("Wilson Zouaves"); and was discharged at New York, 25 June 1863, with his regiment, having taken part in the battle of Santa Rosa Island, the bombardment of Forts McRae and Barancas, and engagements at Port Hudson, Irish Bend, Vermilion Bayou, and other places in the Red River expedition.

X. Cornelia Heyer Whitney, b. at Paterson, N. J., 22 Feb. 1844; married at Orange, N. J., 1 May 1866, by Rev. Dr. Cox, Episcopal, to Wallace Montgomery Soverel, a dealer in ice, son of Matthias and Dorliska (Scofield) Soverel, of Orange, where he was born 30 May 1842. They settled at Newark, N. J. She died there, 16 Jan. 1867, and was buried in Rosedale Cemetery, Orange. He was living at Orange in May 1875.

Lucella Ann Remer, b. at Derby, Conn., 21 Sept. 1808; bap. in the Congregational Church at Derby, 13 Nov. 1808; married at Derby, 8 Ap. 1827, Frederick Wells Parrott, son of Abram and Lucy (Wells) Parrott, of Bridgeport, Conn., where he was born 25 June 1805. They settled at Bridgeport, and were living there in Nov. 1874, on Washington Avenue; where, in connection with his son and son-in-law, he carried on an extensive manufactory of varnishes.
