James Alfred Gatfield, b. at Grimsby, C.W., 21 Jan. 1848; a moulder and musician; married at St. Catharine's Ont., 10 Dec. 1868, Regina McMullen, dau. of James and Mary Ann (Lambert) McMullen, of St. Catharine's, where she was born 6 Dec. 1851. They were living at Welland, Ont., in Feb. 1875. 18987

Lewis Francis Bungay, b. at Hamilton, C.W.; a dealer in dairy goods and hardware; married at Stratford, C.W., 27 Dec. 1858, Mary Amanda Switzer, of Norwich, C.W., dau. of Amos and Dinah (Switzer) Switzer. She was born at Peterborough, C.W., 27 March 1841. They settled at Norwich, and were living there in 1874. 18989
12498 II. George Washington Bungay, b. at Buffalo, N.Y., 26 July 1840; a harness-maker; married at New York City, 16 Nov. 1865, by Rev. Father Quin, Catholic, to Margaret Graham, who was born at New York, 1 June 1846, dau. of John and Alice Graham. She died at the corner of Norman and Messerole Avenues, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, N.Y., 20 June 1866, and was buried in Calvary Cemetery. He was married (2d) 30 June 1867, in the Greene Street Methodist Episcopal Church, New York, by the pastor, Rev. J. S. Inskip, to Annie Brugman, dau. of John and Annie Brugman. She was born in North Germany, 17 Feb. 1848, and emigrated to new York in 1853, with her parents. They were living at 359 1/2 Prospect Avenue, South Brooklyn, N.Y., in Feb. 1874. 18991
12499 III. Sarah Louisa Bungay, b. at Scotland, C.W., 21 May 1842; married there, 28 Nov. 1861, Thomas Merritt, a founder, son of Caleb and Hannah (Underhill) Merritt, of Norwich, C.W. He was born in King's Co., N.B., 24 Oct. 1833. They settled at Norwich, and were living there in 1874. 18992
