where he was born 21 May 1838. They dwelt at Ashford till 5 Nov. 1870; then moved to McKenstry Hollow, in Yorkshire, N. Y., where she died 26 Ap. 1871. She was buried at Sardinia, N. Y. He was married (2d) 1 Jan. 1873, at the corner of Congress and Normal Streets, Ypsilanti, Mich., by Rev. G. P. Tindall, Presbyterian, to Eveline Johanna Hadley. He enlisted at Springville, N. Y., 9 Aug. 1862, as a private in Co. F, 116th Reg. of N. Y. S. Vol. Infantry; took part in two engagements, in which he was thrice wounded; and was discharged, on account of his wounds, at New Orleans, La., 29 July 1863.. He was admitted, on trial, to the Central Illinois Conference in Sept. 1872; was pastor at Cleveland, Ill., till 1873, and at Coal Valley, Ill., till 1874; and was living at Bailey Harbor, Wis., in Sept. 1875.
12397 VI. Charles Oliver Runyan, b. at Benton, N. Y., 17 Sept. 1836; a mason; married at Monmouth, Iowa, 11 June 1865, by D. Waterman, Esq., to Maria Prior, dau. of Elijah and Rebecca (Cline) Prior, of Canton, Iowa. She was born in Washington Co., Ohio, 30 Nov. 1847. They settled at Maquoketa, Iowa, and were living there in Sept. 1876. He served in the 24th Reg. of Iowa Vol. Infantry, for eight months, in 1862. 18924

12399 VIII. Hannah Elizabeth Runyan, b. at Sardinia, N. Y., 31 Dec. 1841; married at Aurora, N. Y., 20 Dec. 1865, by Rev. James McClelland, Methodist Episcopal, to John Leland Billington, a farmer, son of John Stickney and Sarah (Ford) Billington, of Aurora, where he was born 20 May 1835. They dwelt at Elma, N. Y., till 1872; and then moved to Aurora, where they were still living in Aug. 1875. 18926
12400 IX. Elbert Jackson Runyan, b. at Sardinia, N. Y., 7 Sept. 1843; a farmer,; married at Machias, N. Y., 4 July 1869, by Rev. Thomas F. Parker, Methodist Episcopal, to Ella Louisa White, dau. of Isaac and Anna (Smith) White, of Springville, N. Y. She was born at South Yorkshire, N. Y., 11 Aug. 1852. They settled at South Yorkshire, and were living there in Aug. 1875. He enlisted at Buffalo, N. Y., 25 Aug. 1862, as private in Co. F, 116th Reg. of N. Y. S. Vol. Infantry; and served for three years. He took part in the engagements at Plain Store, La., 24 May 1863; siege of Port Hudson, La., 27 May to 8 July 1863; Cox's Plantation, La., 13 July 1863; Sabine Cross Roads, La., 8 Ap. 1864; Pleasant Hill, La., 9 Ap. 1864; Winchester, Va., 19 Sept. 1864; Fisher's Hill, Va., 22 Sept. 1864; and Cedar Creek, Va., 19 Oct, 1864. 18928
