Samuel6 Whitney (Samuel5, Thomas4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Samuel5 and Grace (-----) Whitney, was born 10 Sep 1745, Stow, MA, surely the Samuel Whitney who died 12 Apr 1842, Lancaster, MA, aged 95 years.
No record of marriage or children has been found, but the 1790 census indicates that he apparently had a wife, a son, and two daughters.
One unidentified Samuel Whitney supposedly married, 1 Dec 1772, Ruth Goodridge, daughter of Joshua and Lydia (Stearns) Goodridge, born 13 Sep 1751, Lunenburg, MA. Whether this is the above Samuel6 Whitney is unknown.
