p. 89, #388: Simon5 WHITNEY of Harvard and Olive WETHERBE of Stow published their intentions of marriage on 10 Jun 1744, according to Harvard vital records. His wife Patience HASELTINE was Patience WHITCOMB, daughter of James and Hannah (GRAVES) WHITCOMB, born 3 Apr 1739, Harvard, MA, who had married firstly, 30 May 1758, Harvard, MA, Nathaniel HAZELTINE. They had four children: Sarah, Patience, Hannah, and Nathaniel HAZELTINE. After Simon's death, Patience and Samuel MEADS, Jr., published their intentions of marriage on 13 Jun 1779, Harvard, MA. They had two children: Amy and Reuben MEADS.

p. 89, #1077: Sarah6 WHITNEY did not marry ----- TAYLOR. It was her step-sister, Sarah HAZELTINE, daughter of Nathaniel and Patience (WHITCOMB) HAZELTINE, who married, 19 Mar 1778, Harvard, MA, Phinehas TAYLOR. Instead, Sarah6 WHITNEY married, 23 Dec 1769, Harvard, MA, Abel WHITCOMB, son of James and Hannah (GRAVES) WHITCOMB, born 23 Jun 1744, Harvard, MA, according to Harvard vital records. She died 29 Jun 1772, Harvard, MA, aged 22 years 3 months, also according to Harvard vital records, which agrees very well with her birth date.

p. 89, #1078: Silas6 WHITNEY was born 16 (not 6) Oct 1751, Harvard, MA, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1081: Judah6 WHITNEY was born 17 (not 15) May 1757, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1083: Judah6 WHITNEY and Polly McINTYRE published their intentions of marriage on 10 Aug 1791, Fitchburg, MA, according to Fitchburg vital records.

p. 89, #1084: Lucy6 WHITNEY died 19 Oct 1765 (not 1764), Harvard, MA, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1085: Simon6 WHITNEY died 18 Jan (not Dec) 1767, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1086: Simon6 WHITNEY married, 22 May 1792, Harvard, MA, Mary WELSH (not WELCH) of Bolton, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1087: There was no son Reuben6 WHITNEY in this family. There was, however, Reuben MEEDS, son of Samuel and Patience (WHITCOMB)(HAZELTINE)(WHITNEY) MEADS, born 31 Jan 1782, Harvard, MA, according to Harvard vital records. Thus this child was a son of Simon's second wife by her third husband.

p. 89, #1088: This daughter was actually a step-daughter, Patience HAZELTINE, daughter of Nathaniel and Patience (WHITCOMB) HAZELTINE, who married, 12 Jan 1781, Harvard, MA, William WILLARD, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1089: This daughter was actually a step-daughter, Hannah HAZELTINE, daughter of Nathaniel and Patience (WHITCOMB) HAZELTINE, who married, 8 Mar 1781, Harvard, MA, Gabriel PRIEST, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1090: There was no daughter Amy6 WHITNEY in this family. There was, however, Ame MEEDS, daughter of Samuel and Patience (WHITCOMB)(HAZELTINE)(WHITNEY) MEADS, born 22 Jul 1781, Harvard, MA, according to Harvard vital records. She married, 7 Nov 1803, Harvard, MA, Benjamin DRAPER of Boxborough, according to Harvard vital records. Thus this child was a daughter of Simon's second wife by her third husband.

p. 89, #1095: Hannah6 WHITNEY died 27 (not 26) Oct 1756, Harvard, MA, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1097: Annes6 WHITNEY was born 26 (not 25) Feb 1761, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1098: Oliver6 WHITNEY was born 29 Jan 1763, Havard, MA, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #1102: There was no child Levi6 WHITNEY in this family. There was a Levi6 WHITNEY born 12 Jun 1751 (not 1757), Harvard, MA, son of Jonas and Zebudah (DAVIS) WHITNEY, #965 on page 168, according to Harvard vital records.

p. 89, #398: Joshua5 WHITNEY and Mercy PIERCE published their intentions of marriage on 1 Oct 1763, Stow, MA, according to Stow vital records.

p. 89, #398: Joshua5 WHITNEY died 14 Apr 1771, Stow, MA, aged 24 years, according to Stow vital records.

p. 89, #1100: This daughter was named Marcy6 (not Mary) WHITNEY, according to Stow vital records. She was probably erroneously called "Elizabeth" on 7 June 1785 in the list of heirs at the division of her father's estate, according to Middlesex County probate records, file #24704, but she signed as "Marcy".

p. 89, #400: Zachariah5 WHITNEY was born 2 (not 27) Oct 1732, Pomfret, CT, according to Pomfret vital records.

p. 89, #1110: Abigail6 WHITNEY was born 13 Sep 1766 (not 1776), Montague, MA, according to Montague vital records.
