Levi Charles7 Whitney (William6, Elijah5, John4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of William6 and Prudence (Brown) Whitney, was born 6 Jan 1832, Norwich, VT, and died 10 Dec 1867, New Orleans, LA.

He married, Mary Eliza Pennington.

He was born in the Green Mountain state, and with his brothers Henry and Charles migrated to New Orleans. Was pilot on the Mississippi river when the war broke out, and joined the Confederate navy, being impressed into the service. He resided New Orleans, LA.

i. Alfred Lewis8 Whitney, b. 31 Mar 1865, New Orleans, LA; m. 1 Jan 1888, Mary Louise Lynch, b. 12 Apr 1865. He is a clerk, s.p.; resided 9 Haynes St., East Boston, MA.
ii. Robert L. Whitney, b. -----. He resided in Boston, MA, is employed on the Herald.
iii. (daughter) Whitney, b. -----; m. Evan H. Morgan; resided Baltimore, MD.
iv. Roberta Harp Whitney, b. 7 Dec 1861; m. 19 Aug 1877, John Thomas Seward; resided New Orleans, LA, Cor. Clouet and Chartres Sts. He was b. 3 Apr 1853.
Ch.: Alfred Henry, b. 22 Jun 1879.
