Van Sise; and lived at Woodbury, L.I., without children, in Dec. 1877.
2 He is descended from both John Whitney, of Watertown, Mass., and Henry Whitney, of Southold, Long Island; and thus unites two families which are believed to be entirely distinct in origin, though bearing the same name. We subjoin his descent from the founder of the Massachusetts family:
