sale, son of Archelaus and Leah (Strever) Tupper, of Corning, N.Y. He was born near Albany, N.Y., in 1836. They settled at Gibson, and were living there in Jan. 1876.
10807 II. William Whitney Cowan, adopted. He was born at Caton, N.Y., 17 Sept. 1853, son of Mrs. Cowan's brother, James Lewis Whitney, by his second wife, Maria Eldred; married at Painted Post, N.Y., 26 July 1870, Priscilla Emeline Mead, born at Caroline, N.Y., in May 1853, dau. of Darwin and Jane (Sawyer) Mead; and settled at Gibson, N.Y., where they were still living in Jan. 1876. 17826

Zerah Mizner, b. at Hector, N.Y., 1 Feb 1829; a physician and druggist; married at Greenwood, Mich., 23 Nov. 1863, Sarah Scott, who was born in Canada West, 19 March 1842, dau. of Adam and Delilah Scott, afterwards of Michigan. He settled at Bridgeton, Mich., where he was supervisor, for two years, during the war of 1861; and, after six years' residence, moved to Whitehall, Mich., where he was collector of taxes in 1874, and had then held that position for seven years. 17827

John Mizner, b. at Black Rock, now Buffalo, N.Y., 3 Nov. 1832; a dealer in lumber and general merchandise; married at Cascade, Mich., 4 July 1858, Alta Jane Birch, dau. of Freeman and Lucy (Walker) Birch, of Courtland, Mich., formerly of Oakland Co., Mich., wherre she was born 12 July 1861 [sic]. They have lived at Newaygo, Mich., for five years; Cedar Springs, Mich., six months; Newaygo again, two years; Chicago, Ill., one year; Muskegon, Mich., three years; Ludington, Mich., one year; and in 1872, removed to Baldwin, Mich., where they were still living in 1874. He has been a justice of the peace for fourteen years. 17829
10810 III. Louisa Jane Mizner, b. at Lancaster, N.Y., 15 March 1834; married at Grand Rapids, Mich., 25 June 1852, Andrew Jackson Alvord, a farmer; and lived at Muskegon, Mich., in Oct. 1874.
10811 IV. Peter Dudley Mizner, b. at Lancaster, N.Y., 29 Feb. 1836; a farmer, lumberman and merchant; married at Peru, Nebraska, 19 Jan. 1860, by Rev. Martin Pritchard, Methodist Episcopal, to Catharine Leonora Gowdy, born in Miami Co., Indiana, dau. of Thomas and Leah (Rank) Gowdy. He served for three years and three months, in the Union army, during the war of 1861; since which his home has been in Michigan. He was living at Baldwin, Mich., in 1874. 17832
