Levi Charles7 Whitney (William6, Elijah5, John4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of William6 and Prudence (Brown) Whitney; born Norwich, Vermont, 6 Jan 1832; married Mary Eliza Pennington. He was born in the Green Mountain state, and with his brothers Henry and Charles migrated to New Orleans. Was pilot on the Mississippi river when the war broke out, and joined the Confederate navy, being impressed into the service. He died 10 Dec 1867, resided New Orleans, Louisiana.

i. Alfred Lewis8 Whitney, born New Orleans, Mar. 31, 1865; married 1 Jan 1888, Mary Louise Lynch, born 12 Apr 1865. He is a clerk, s.p.; resided 9 Haynes St., East Boston, Massachusetts.
ii. Robert L. Whitney, born -----. He resided in Boston, is employed on the Herald.
iii. (daughter) Whitney, born -----; married Evan H. Morgan; resided Baltimore, Maryland.
iv. Roberta Harp Whitney, born 7 Dec 1861; married John Thomas Seward, 19 Aug 1877; resided New Orleans, Louisiana, Cor. Clouet and Chartres Sts. He was born 3 Apr 1853. Ch..: Alfred Henry, born 22 Jun 1879.
