Caleb⁵ Whitney (Timothy⁴, John³, John², John¹), son of Timothy⁴ and Margaret (Bacon) Whitney, was born 2 or 7 Apr 1711, Roxbury, MA,^[1] and died before 11 Jun 1764, Newton, MA.^[2]

Caleb married, 15 Apr 1736, Newton, MA, Hannah Cheney, daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Wiswall) Cheney. She was born 13 Jun 1711, Newton, MA, and died after 2 May 1765.

On 11 Jun 1764, Newton, MA, Caleb Whitney, cordwainer of Newton, was appointed administrator of the estate of his father, Caleb Whitney, late of Newton, deceased, and posted bond, with Joseph Whitney, yeoman, and Moses Whitney, yeoman, both of Newton, as sureties.

On 22 Jun 1764, Newton, MA, his inventory was taken by Thomas Greenwood, Ebenezer Parker, and Thomas Marceonn[?].

On 2 May 1765, Newton, MA, divison of his estate was made: to widow Hannah, eldest son Caleb, Thaddeus, Hannah, and Sarah; made by Abr. Fuller, Ebenezer Parker, and John Wilson.

On 14 May 1765, Newton, MA, an adminstration account was recorded.

iv.	Thaddeus Whitney, b. 10 Jul 1747; m. Temperance Hyde, daughter of Lieut. Noah Hyde and Rebecca Davis, 21 Jul 1772 at Newton, MA; d. 15 Aug 1832 at Newton, MA, at age 85; aged 85 years; his estate was probated 4 Dec 1764 at Newton, MA; son of Caleb Whitney, late of Newton, ovber 14, chose Joseph Cheney, husbandman, of Newton, as guardian; he posted bond with Caleb Whitney, cordwainer, of Newton, as surety; his estate was probated 30 Oct 1832 at Newton, MA; will and codicil proved. He left a will on 1 Jan 1828 at Newton, MA; will of Thaddeus Whitney of Newton; wife Temperance; grandchildren Asa Cook, Nancy Davis, and Louisa Jackson, children of late daughter Temperance, deceased; Israel L.
