Benjamin M. Whitney (William Hildreth, Aaron, [poss.] Jonathan5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of William Hildreth and Mary V. (Morrill) Whitney, was born 6 Jan 1847, Sebec, ME,[1] and died after 1880.

He married Isabel R. Powers, daughter of Joseph W. and Caroline (-----) Powers. She was born about 1851, Brownville, ME, and died after 1880.

On 6 May 1876 was recorded Benjamin M. Whitney’s certified mark for sheep: swallow tail in the under part of the right ear.[2]
