Levi Charles7 Whitney (William6, Elijah5, John4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of William6 and Prudence (Brown) Whitney, was born 6 Jan 1832, Norwich, VT, and died 10 Dec 1867, New Orleans, LA.
He married, Mary Eliza Pennington. She was born about 1839, AL, and died 16 Sep 1910, Boston, MA, aged 73 years, of heart trouble and old age.[1]
He was born in the Green Mountain state, and with his brothers Henry and Charles migrated to New Orleans. Was pilot on the Mississippi river when the war broke out, and joined the Confederate navy, being impressed into the service. He resided New Orleans, LA.
