He married firstly, Boston, MA, Johanna A. Hook, daughter of Gilman and Clarina (-----) Hook. She was born ca. Oct 1824, Boston, MA, and died 28 Aug 1864, Milton, MA, aged 39 years 10 months, of phthisis.[2]
