Family:Whitney, Levi Charles (1832-1867)

Levi Charles⁷ Whitney (William⁶, Elijah⁵, John⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of William⁶ and Prudence (Brown) Whitney, was born 6 Jan 1832, Norwich, VT, and died 10 Dec 1867, New Orleans, LA.

He married, Mary Eliza Pennington. She was born about 1839, AL, and died 16 Sep 1910, Boston, MA, aged 73 years, of heart trouble and old age.^[1]

He was born in the Green Mountain state, and with his brothers Henry and Charles migrated to New Orleans. Was pilot on the Mississippi river when the war broke out, and joined the Confederate navy, being impressed into the service. He resided New Orleans, LA.

i.	Frances Prudence8 Whitney, b. ca. 1858, LA; m. Evan H. Morgan; resided Baltimore, MD, and Boston, MA.
ii.	Roberta Harp Whitney, b. 7 Dec 1861; m. 19 Aug 1877, John Thomas Seward; resided New Orleans, LA, Cor. Clouet and Chartres Sts. He was b. 3 Apr 1853. Ch.: Alfred Henry, b. 22 Jun 1879.
iii.	Robert L. Whitney, b. ca. 1863, LA; m. 29 Jun 1892, Lynn, MA, Barbara Alton, b. ca. 1871, Boston, dau. of John & Mary (----) Alton.[2] He resided in Boston, MA, is employed on the Herald.
iv.	Alfred Lewis Whitney, b. 31 Mar 1865, New Orleans, LA; m. 1 Jan 1888, Boston, MA, Mary Louise Lynch, b. 12 Apr 1865, Boston, MA, dau. of Thomas and Annette (-----) Lynch.[3] He is a clerk, s.p.; resided 9 Haynes St., East Boston, MA.
