Jacob Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1791, and died between 1840 and 1850.

He married, 7 Jun 1818, Boston, MA, Elizabeth B. (Stretch) Dillingham,[1] daughter of William and Jennie (-----) Stretch. She was born about 13 Mar 1787, Boston, MA, and died 25 Oct 1877, Lynn, MA, aged 90 years 7 months 12 days, of old age.[2] She had married firstly, 10 May 1810, Boston, MA, Seth Dillingham, who died 2 Dec 1817.

Children of Jacob and Elizabeth B. (Stretch) Whitney, possibly incomplete:

i. Jacob Whitney, b. ca. 1818, Boston, MA; m.(1) Sarah Jackson; m.(2) Honora Connor; m.(3) Elizabeth (Downing) Allen.
ii. (daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1822; bur. 19 Sep 1839, Lynn, MA, aged 17 years.[3]
iii. William Foster Whitney, b. ca. 1826, Boston, MA; m. Sarah Jane Currier.

He may be identical to Jacob7 Whitney of Boston, who m. Phebe Mitchell, and/or to Jacob Whitney of Boston, who m. Ruth -----.

  • 1830, Boston Ward 10, Suffolk Co., MA: Jacob Whitney, 2 males 15-19, 1 male 10-14, 1 male 0-4, 1 female 40-49, 1 female 15-19, and 1 female 5-9. Looks like his family, but he appears to be missing and 2 other males 15-19 and 1 other female 15-19 are present. They may be children by an earlier wife or wives (see Notes above).
