Levi6 Whitney (Abel5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Abel5 and Thankful (Morton) Whitney, was born 15 May 1779, Gorham, Maine;[1]

Levi Whitney and Happy Higgins filed marriage intentions 28 Aug 1802, Standish, Maine.[2] and were married 10 Nov 1802, Standish[3] or Sep 1801, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.[4] Happy Higgins was born 17 Apr 1781, Cape Cod and died in 1856.[5] Levi Whitney died in 1855.[6]

Levi Whitney was a Private in the War of 1812 and served under Capt. J Bailey's Company, Lt. Col. J. Burbank's Regt, Served from September 7 to September 20, 1814. 1 day for additional travel. Service at Portland. Raised in Standish.[7]

Levi Whitney is on Standish Tax List for 1808.[8]

Note: There is also a recorded birth for a Joseph Whitney, born 31 May 1816. [31] It is not known if this was a mistake for Levi, a twin of Levi, or another situation.
