Family:Whitney, Beachgood (1820-1905)

Beachgood⁷ Whitney (Dennis⁶, Samuel⁵, Eliakim⁴, Nathan³, John², Henry¹), son of Dennis⁶ and Elizabeth Betsey (Henderson) Whitney, was born 18 Jun 1820, Allen's Hill, Richmond, NY, and died after Apr 1873.

He married, 30 Sep 1840, Livonia, NY, Betsey Elizabeth Bennett, daughter of Eleazar and Barbary (Gregg) Bennett. She was born 22 Aug 1822, Livonia, NY, and died after Apr 1873.

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a farmer . . . . After his marriage he lived at Royalton, N.Y., till 14 March 1842; at Livonia, till 1 Ap. 1844; at Pavilion, N.Y., till 1 Dec. 1846; at Conesus, N.Y., till 4 Nov. 1847; at Armada, Mich., till 1 Ap. 1866; at Argentine, Mich., till 1 Ap. 1873; and since that time at Linden, Mich."

Children of Beachgood⁷ and Betsey Elizabeth (Bennett) Whitney:

i.	Jane Barbara8 Whitney, b. 4 Jan 1843, Royalton, NY; m. 29 Sep 1864, Armada, MI, Byron Hopkins, son of Leonard and Clarissa (Gay) Hopkins, b. 28 Nov 1841, Bruce, MI; a farmer. They dwelt at Oakland, MI, for one year; at Argentine, MI, five years; at Deerfield, MI, one year; and then settled at Linden, MI, where they were still living in 1874, without children.
ii.	Henry Eleazar Whitney, b. 21 Oct 1844, Pavilion, NY; m. 7 Feb 1871, Vernon, MI, Abigail Josephine Cummins, daughter of William and Mary Maria (Middlesworth) Cummins, b. 12 Nov 1850, Argentine, MI. They dwelt at Byron, MI, in 1874.
iii.	Minerva Elizabeth Whitney, b. 22 Jul 1846, Pavilion, NY; d. 24 Mar 1847, Conesus, NY, and was buried there.
iv.	Charles Dennis Whitney, b. 27 Mar 1848, Armada, MI; m. 20 Aug 1873, Argentine, MI, Sarah Ann Roberts, daughter of David Nelson and Louisa Maria (Head) Roberts, b. 25 Sep 1855, Deerfield, MI; a farmer. They dwelt at Linden, MI, in 1874.
v.	Edgar William Whitney, b. 22 May 1851, Armada, MI; m. 2 Oct 1873, Holley, MI, Sarah Ellen Cooley, daughter of Elhanan and Barbara (Wyley) Cooley, b. 7 Jul 1850, Deerfield, MI; a farmer. They were living with his father, at Linden, MI, in 1874.
vi.	Sarah Adeline Whitney, b. 21 May 1854, Armada, MI; and was living with her father, at Linden, MI, in 1874.
vii.	Ellen Catharine Whitney, b. 25 Oct 1856, Armada, MI; and was living with her father, at Linden, MI, in 1874.
viii.	Mary Elizabeth Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1859, Armada, MI; and was living with her father, at Linden, MI, in 1874.
ix.	Adah Sophia Whitney, b. 15 May 1861, Armada, MI; d. 11 Mar 1868, Argentine, MI, where she was buried.
