Edit My Whitney Line

My name is Elizabeth Nelson. I have always been fascintaed by genealogy and decided to research my husband's family; doing this for our son and the generations to come. My husband's fraternal grand-mother, Helen Taylor Nelson, was a member of D.A.R. fo many, many years. In reviewing this information, I was intrigued by the Joshua Whitney and Sarah "Sally" Cochran reference. With this information, along with much help from my dear mother-in-law, we have traced the Whitney line. I will keep searching for puzzle pieces and watch the picture unfold.

Sir Robert Whitney (1517 - 5 Aug 1567), who married Sybil Baskerville, was kighted by Queen Mary I in 1553. Their son, Robert Whitney III (1543 - 19 Dec 1612) married Elizabeth Morgan Guilliams, who died 22 Nov 1568 and is buried at St. Giles, Cripplegate, London. Her mother was Katherine Cromwell. They had son, Thomas Whitney (1563 - 14 Apr 1637)who was born in Lambeth Marsh, Surrey. He married Mary Bray on 12 May 1583, at St. Margaret's, which is situated on the grounds of Westminster Abbey in Parliment Square. This is my personal opinion of our family connections.
