I would like to add corrections to the Family Page of Remington Whitney(c1809-a1860) His name is Remington Hobby Whitney born 26 December 1801, Portland Maine and died 29 June 1890, at Burr Oak, Saint Joseph, Michigan. His first wife is Eliza Weaver, daughter of Daniel Wing Weaver b. abt 1785 Pawling, Dutchess Co., New York and his wife Amy Underhill b. abt 1784 Dutchess Co., NY. (Amy Underhill is sister to my 3rd great grandmother, Charity Underhill) Amy Underhill Weaver died 26 Jan. 1853, prob. at Burr Oak, Saint Joseph, Michigan. Eliza Weaver Whitney died 3 days after giving birth to Daniel Wing Whitney b. 25 April 1834 near Avon, Livingston, New York. Remington Hobby Whitney married again abt 1835 to Rhoda Content Chapman b.31 March 1817 in Perry Twp., Genesee, New York. Rhoda, died 23 March 1901 Quincy, Branch, Michigan. Remington purchased land in Burr Oak, Saint Joseph,MI in 1837 and moved there. Children of Remington and Rhoda C. Chapman are: Warren Whitney b. Nov 1842 Burr Oak, St. Joseph, MI. Crosby C. Whitney b. 12 Jul 1843 Burr Oak, St. Joe, MI. Louisa Whitney b. abt 1845 Burr Oak, St. Joe, MI. Julia Whitney b. 8 Dec 1848 Burr Oak, St. Joe, MI. Marjora (aka. Marion A.) b. Feb 1851 Burr Oak, St. Joe, MI. Edwin George Whitney b. abt 1853 Burr Oak, St. Joe, MI. Amy Underhill was a member of the Society of Friends (Quaker) as was Daniel Wing Weaver. Their immigrration is thus recorded. Daniel was disowned, but Amy was not, and contiued into Battle Creek, Michigan.
