Family:Whitney, William (1830-1867)
William Whitney (Levi), son of Levi and Mary Ann (-----) Whitney,[1] was born 14 Jan 1830, Salem, MA, [2] and died 6 Aug 1867, Cambridge, MA, aged 37 years 7 months, of intemperance [calls his father Wm. W. Whitney].[3]
He "of Salem" married 20 Oct 1850, Danvers, MA, Elizabeth Prescott "of Danvers",[4] daughter of Jonathan C. and Mary (Foot) Prescott.[5] She was born 11 Dec 1829, Danvers, MA,[6] and died 3 Feb 1908, Cambridge, MA, aged 78 years 1 month 23 days, of heart disease.[7]
He was a sash and blind maker at marriage and the birth of daughter Sarah.

i. Sarah Elizabeth Whitney, b. 23 May 1851, Danvers, MA;[8] m. 24 Jul 1869, Cambridge, MA, Charles S. Abbott, son of Samuel C. and Dorothy A. (-----) Abbott, b. ca. 1858, Claremont, NH.[9] ii. Ida L. Whitney, b. ca. Mar 1854, South Danvers, MA; d. 19 Aug 1864, Cambridge, MA, aged 10 years 5 months, of typhoid fever.[10] iii. Frank Whitney, b. Oct 1858 [Pierce] or 18 Oct 1857, Medford, MA;[11] d. Sep 1860 [Pierce]. One Frank Whitney, son of William and Lydia, died 27 Sep 1859, Medford, MA, aged 2 years, born Medford, of dysentery.[12] Apparently that was this child, with the mother's name an error for "Lizzie".
