In 1488 he was sued by John Okers:
- "Herefs: John Okers by his attorney against Walter Whytney late of Calderhyll in the parish of Norton, husbandman, in a plea that with force and arms he broke into the close of John at Norton and stole growing trees and other chattels worth 100s. to John's grave damage and against the peace of the now lord king; he did not come; so he may be arrested (ideo capiatur)."[1]
