Tabitha4 Whitney (Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), daughter of Jonathan3 and Sarah (Hapgood) Whitney, was born 22 Apr or 22 Aug 1696, Watertown, MA,, or 22 Aug 1696, Sherborn, MA,[1] and died 2 Nov 1762, Harvard, MA, aged 66 years.[2]
She married firstly, 28 Feb 1715/6, Weston, MA, Jacob Fulham "of Weston",[3] son of Francis and Sarah (Livermore) Fulham. He was born 19 Nov 1693, Watertown, MA, and died 8 May 1725, Pickwacket (Fryeburg), ME (recorded at Watertown, MA), in "Lovewell's Fight."
She married secondly, 19 Apr 1726, Watertown, MA, George Parkhurst, son of John and Abigail (Garfield) Parkhurst. He was born 3 Jan 1685/6, Watertown, MA, and died 17 Mar 1734/5, Watertown, MA.
She married thirdly, 10 Aug 1736, Watertown, MA, Samuel Hunt, son of Isaac and Mary (Willard) Hunt, as his first wife. He was born 11 Jan 1709/10, Cambridge, MA, and died 4 Jul 1775, Harvard, MA.[4] He married secondly, 16 Jan 1764, Harvard, MA, Lydia Willard.[5]
Pierce says the following:[6]
- TABITHA [WHITNEY], b. Aug. 22, 1696; m. Feb. 28, 1715, Jacob FULHAM, b. Nov. 19, 1693, d. May 8, 1725. She m. 2d Apr. 19, 1728, George PARKHURST. She m. 3d Aug. 10, 1736, Samuel HUNT.
- Jacob FULHAM was a serg. in Capt. LOVEWELL's company and was killed in "Lovewell's Fight" with the Indians at Pigwacket (Fryesburg), May 8, 1725. "A serg. named Fulham and an Indian distinguished by his dress and activity singled out each other and both fell, mutually slain by their antagonist's weapon." (Worchester Mag. 1.23) Res. Weston. Nov. 16, 1728, m. 1750, Anna ALLEN, of Petersham; William, b. Apr. 11, 1731, res. Holliston; George, b. Apr. 25, 1733, of German Flats; Tabitha, b. Tabitha's 3d husband was Samuel HUNT. They sold to Thomas RAND, of Weston, the right of the widow's third of George PARKHURST estate Nov. 14, 1753. HUNT, b. Jan. 11, 1709. Ch.: Mary, b. June 29, 1745, m. ----- BARNARD [NOTE]. The wife Tabitha d. bef. 1764, for Jan. 16 he m. Lydia WILLARD.
