Names of other alleged children: Charles, Harrison, John, and Reuben. Some are no doubt the unidentified children in the above list.

Son John Whitney was probably the one who was born about 1818, ME, married, (int. 21 Nov 1840, Calais, ME) Mary Gage.[4] She was Mary Trundy Gage, daughter of Isaac and Mary (Trundy) Gage, born 20 Mar 1820, Barnstable, MA, and died 27 Mar 1851, Boston, MA, aged 30 years, of consumption, "widow".[5] They apparently had three children: Ann M., b. ca. 1842, ME; Caroline May, b. ca. 1845, ME, m. bef. 1864, Thomas Horrell; and Charles Fremont, b. ca. 1848, ME. See below for their enumeration in 1850. John seems to be the one living in Contra Costa, CA, in 1860 with son Charles, and in 1870 Charles is living with his sister Caroline Horrell.[6]
