Lemuel7 Whitney (Lemuel6, Joshua5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Lemuel6 and Thankful (Griffeth) Whitney, was born 3 Jan 1779.

He married, 1811, OH, Ellen Kimball.

Left 2 ch. in Warrenton, OH.

Lemuel Whitney moved to Springfield, VT, 1780, with his father. About 1800 he became a traveler, and during the next ten years he traveled through nearly every state in the Union. In 1811 he went to Ohio and married Ellen Kimball, of Warrenton, OH. In 1813 he served on the frontier. After his return he started with merchandise for New Orleans, going down the river with the intention of returning by Springfield, VT. Nothing has since been heard from him.
