Family:Whitney, Jonah (1772-1837)
Jonah6 Whitney (Daniel5, Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Daniel5 and Katy (Stone) Whitney,[1] was born 3 Sep 1772, Shrewsbury, MA,[2] and died 1837.
He married, 9 Dec 1802, Wilmington, VT, Sarah Wilder,[3] of Wilmington, VT,[4] daughter of John and Mary (Rice) Wilder. She was born 26 Oct 1777, Sturbridge, MA, and died after 1860.
Both are buried in the Doran Cemetery, between Madrid and Potsdam, NY.
He came to St. Lawrence Co. in 1808, where his father had settled about 3 years previous; had seven children, of whom the fifth was Daniel.[5]

Mary Ann Whitney, b. ca. 1818, NY; d. 19 Apr 1889, aged 71 years; m. Dennison C. Willmouth, of Potsdam, NY, son of John and Anna (Grosvenor) Willmouth.
