John Perkins7 Whitney (Samuel Austin6, Samuel5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Samuel Austin6 and Ruth (Perkins) Whitney, was born 30 Dec 1805, Lincolnville, ME,[1] and died 30 Jan 1848, New Orleans, LA, aged 42 years.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 5 Oct 1829, Lincolnville, ME, for him "Capt." "of Lincolnville" and Temperance P. Johnston "of Castine".[3] He married, 27 Oct 1829, Temperance Perkins Johnston. She was born about 1809, MA. She married secondly, Charles J. Abbott, Esq. of Castine, ME, as his second wife.

He was for years a merchant in New Orleans and was highly esteemed and respected; 4 children. He resided New Orleans, LA.
