John8 Whitney (Eli7, Nathan6, Nathan5, Thomas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Eli7 and Nancy (Whitmore) Whitney, was born about 1824, OH, died 1886, and was buried in Elmwood Saint Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, IA.[1]
He married, 21 Mar 1845, Lake Co., IL, Anna Wakefield, daughter of Leonard and Polly Emily7 (Whitney) Wakefield. She was born 11 Aug 1826, PA, died Jun 1893, and was buried 17 Jun 1893 in Elmwood Saint Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, IA.[2]
He served in Company B, 42nd Wisconsin Infantry, in the Civil War.
