Family:Whitney, John (1787-1844)

John⁶ Whitney (Joshua⁵, Eleazer⁴, Eleazer³, Thomas², John¹), son of Joshua⁵ and Betty (Wood) Whitney, born 23 Jul 1787, Henniker, NH, and died 27 Aug 1844, Sandisfield, MA, aged 57 years, of typhus fever.^[1]

He married, 1 Jan 1810, Henniker, NH, Lucy Chamberlain.^[2] She was born 14 Sep 1788, Southborough, MA, and died 8 Apr 1863, Sandisfield, MA, aged 73 years, of old age.^[3]

Both are buried in Sandisfield Center Cemetery, Sandisfield, MA.

He was a blacksmith. He resided Henniker, NH, and Sandisfield, MA.

iii.	Livonia Whitney, b. 16 Apr 1813, Henniker, NH;[6] d. 10 Jan 1845; m. 10 Apr 1837, ----- Royce. She is buried in Sandisfield Center Cemetery, Sandisfield, MA.
iv.	John Hammond Whitney, b. 26 Jul 1815, Sandisfield, MA;[7] m. Olive L. Snow.
v.	Lorenzo Chamberlin Whitney, b. 5 May 1818, Sandisfield, MA;[8] m. Celestia A. Fosdick.
