Joel6 Whitney (Abijah5, Daniel4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Abijah5 and Elizabeth (Ellsworth) Whitney, was born 29 Nov 1788, Warwick, NY, and died 11 Feb 1858, Brooklyn, NY, aged 69 years.
He married, 3 Dec 1808, Florida, NY, Mary Ann Jennings, daughter of Richard and Jemima (Vail) Jennings. She was born 3 May 1786, Orange Co., NY, and died 1833.
Phoenix says the following:
- "Joel Whitney, b. in Warwick, N. Y., 29 Nov. 1788; married, 3 Dec. 1808, in Florida, N. Y., Mary Ann Jennings. They settled in Florida. He died in Brooklyn, N. Y., 11 Feb. 1858, aged 69 years, at the house of his son, Richard Jennings Whitney."
