Harry Garrison Whitney, parentage unknown (but both born in NY), was born Jun 1846, NY, and died after 1900.

He married 13 Jan 1877, Linn Co., IA, Dora Loraine Snedeker,[1] daughter of Merrit and Nancy M. (McMahan) Snedker. She was born 1 Dec 1855, Knox Co., OH, and died 1 Jun 1916, Cedar Rapids, IA. She was buried in Murdock-Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.[2]

On 29 Feb 1908, from Iowa, Dora I. Whitney applied for a widow's pension based on the service of her husband Harry G. Whitney in the New York Volunteers. The application was #893,410.[3]

His widow Dora I. Whitney is listed at 705 H Street in the city directories of Cedar Rapids, IA, in 1910[4] and 1912.[5]
