Family:Whitney, Elliot (1808-a1843)

Elliot⁷ Whitney (Isaac⁶, Abner⁵, Jonas⁴, Eleazer³, Thomas², John¹), son of Isaac⁶ and Polly (Fairbanks) Whitney, was born 9 Mar 1808, Springfield, VT,^[1] and died after 1843.

He married firstly, 7 Jun 1834, Elmore, VT, Mary Ann Tucker.^[2]

Marriage intentions were published 23 Dec 1843, Brookline, MA, for him and his second wife Sally Shepard "of Brookline",^[3] "of Pittsfield". He married secondly, 21 Feb 1844, Boston, MA, Sally Shepard.^[4] She was born about 1804, Marblehead, MA, and died 8 Jun 1850, Lynn, MA, aged 46, of disease of the heart.^[5]

Since his wife is called "wife of Elliott Whitney" and not "widow of Elliott Whitney" at her death, presumably he died after 8 Jun 1850. Nevertheless, he is not found in the 1850 census, unless he is the one with wife Roxanna in WI.

Children of Elliot⁷ and Mary Ann (Tucker) Whitney, probably incomplete:

i.	Mary E.8 Whitney, b. -----; m. 16 Sep 1860, Walden, VT, Newell H. Adams, son of Abial A. and Irena (-----) Adams.[6]

Children of Elliot⁷ and Sally (Shepard) Whitney, if any, unknown.
