He married, 4 Sep 1849, Paterson, NJ, Margaret Smith. She was born in Dublin, Ireland, and died after May 1875.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a clerk . . . Margaret Smith . . . came to this country when a child. She was living at Orange, N.J., in May 1875. "
